The project examines how adult Russian native speakers resident in English-speaking environment use both languages. We are inclined to research what factors contribute to faster English acquisition as well as Russian preservation. Also peculiarities of the speech, such as phonetic, morphosyntactic, lexical, and code-switching, in both languages by late bilinguals as compared to monolinguals are focal to our research.

The study delves into the bilingual dynamics of Russian native speakers living in a Turkish-speaking environment. Our focus lies in unraveling the factors influencing the rapid acquisition of Turkish while maintaining proficiency in Russian, as well as the reverse process: acquiring Russian while preserving Turkish skills. An in-depth exploration awaits, examining various speech characteristics and peculiarities, including phonetic nuances, morphosyntactic patterns, lexical choices, code-switching tendencies, and instances of incomplete language acquisition in both linguistic realms.
